What’s included in a meal?

Unless noted otherwise, you should expect five courses with beverages. See past menus here.

How many people can attend each dinner/what is seating and serving like?

Unless noted otherwise, all guests are seated at a single 12-person round communal table, and food is served as a mixture of plated and family-style dishes. Parties are limited to 4 guests. We encourage everyone to come ready to share a meal with some fun new people.

How much does it cost?

Prices are included in the details of each event here. Payment is accepted via Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App.

We use a pre-paid “seat” model. Guests chosen for an event will be sent invitations, and once we receive payment, their seats will be reserved. This means guests don’t have to worry about payments during or after the meal, and we don’t have to worry about no-shows.

Gratuity is not required/expected. If you want to tip at some point after the meal for the experience or to support our growth, we accept cash and digital payments via the same method used to pay for the meal.

Can I request menu customizations?

The menu for each meal is set before the announcements are sent out, and we compare it with provided food and drink details to match guests with meals. If there is a course/item that may cause issues with an invited guest’s known dietary restrictions, we’ll provide an alternative and note that in the menu.

If you receive an invitation and there is a dietary restriction you didn’t note, or if there appears to be a conflict in the menu, please respond to the invitation email to check.

We will politely decline requests for customizations that aren’t associated with dietary restrictions.

How do I get notified of future events?

In the request form, check the box for “Notify me when future events are announced,” then fill out the rest of the form. You’ll be emailed when future events are scheduled.

You can unsubscribe at any time.

How do I submit a request to attend a specific event?

In the request form, check the box for “Attend a specific event” to display the Event dropdown. Select the appropriate line, then fill out the rest of the form.

How do party requests work?

In the request form, after checking the box for “Attend a specific event” and selecting the appropriate line from the Event dropdown, enter your info until you get to the Party section. This is where parties of up to 4 people can be scheduled together.

If you’re submitting a party request on behalf of your group, select “Creating a Party Request” in the Request Type dropdown. Enter the size of the party and the full names of all party members.

  • If all your party members have already provided their food and drink details using the form, the request you’re filling out is the only one needed.
  • If any of your party members haven’t provided their food and drink details using the form, they must do that before the party can be scheduled.

If you’re submitting your info for the first time as a member of a party, select “Member of an Existing Party Request” in the Request Type dropdown.

Fill out the rest of the form normally.

Do I have to fill out the request form separately for every event?

Yes. While this is admittedly a bit redundant, party lists often change between dates due to member availability. This way keeps the form simpler and lowers the risk of scheduling mishaps.

When will I know whether I’ll be receiving an invitation to an event?

We normally announce events about six weeks before their dates and try to have a guest list finalized four weeks out (so roughly two weeks after announcement emails are sent out).

We usually have more requests than seats. Everyone who indicated interest will be emailed roughly four weeks before the event to let them know whether they will be receiving an invitation.

How do I change something about my event-specific request?

If you haven’t received an invitation, use the contact form to modify or cancel your request. Please include the name of the event and the name and email address you provided in the request form.

If you’ve received an invitation, but haven’t sent payment, respond to that email to modify or cancel your request.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If you’ve accepted an invitation and paid for your seat, but need to cancel:

  • If we receive your notice 10 or more days before the event, we’ll refund the full amount.
  • If we receive your notice fewer than 10 days before the event:
    • You can transfer the seat. The person will need to provide their food and drink details via the form, and you’ll need to email us from the address that was sent the invitation (to confirm you authorize the transfer). A refund will not be issued, so you’ll need to square up with the other person.
    • We can try to fill the seat. We’ll contact people who indicated interest in the event but didn’t receive an invitation to offer them the opportunity to buy the seat(s).
    • If the seat is not transferred to or purchased by someone else, we will issue you 50% of the paid amount to use as credit toward a future event. This is transferrable.

Do you also do by-request private dinners?

James and Aryeh have served private dinners in both their spaces and guests’ homes, but that availability is limited, even more so if the rest of the COY team will be involved. If you have a proposal, please provide all the details via the contact form, and we’ll get back to you after discussing.
